Summary

We redesigned the EverJOURNEY website to give it a modern, professional look and feel that matches the calibre of its executive coaching and wellness services. The original site relied heavily on imagery and didn’t clearly explain what EverJOURNEY offers or who it’s for. We restructured the content around its two key audiences, organisations and individuals, and simplified the navigation into four clear sections: Home, About Tamara, Services and Methodology. This makes it easy for visitors to find the services that are relevant to them without having to dig.

We also made booking the natural next step, with a “Book a 30-min Consultation” button in the header and throughout the site, connected to an online booking calendar so potential clients can schedule a session in minutes. Trust signals such as client logos, credentials and verified Google reviews are woven through the page to build confidence at every stage of the journey.

The result is a clear, confident website that speaks directly to business leaders and HR teams, showcases Tamara’s expertise, and turns visitors into booked consultations.

Our Approach

1.

Discovery

We reviewed the original site and identified the key gaps in the user journey, mainly unclear messaging, no clear path for different types of clients, and limited trust-building content.

2.

Audience-Led Structure

We organised the site around two distinct audiences, with dedicated pages for Services for Organisations and Services for Individuals, so each visitor sees content that speaks directly to their needs.

3.

Simplified Navigation

We streamlined the menu into a few clear sections, with a Services dropdown that splits the offering by audience, so users can find what they need in one or two clicks.

4.

Modern Design

Using Divi, we created a refined, professional layout with a calm colour palette, clear typography and a strong hero section that immediately tells visitors what EverJOURNEY does: helping leaders think, perform and lead with clarity.

5.

Seamless Booking

We integrated an online booking calendar, so visitors can book a 30-minute consultation directly from the site, without the back and forth of emails.

6.

Building Trust

We showcased Tamara’s credentials, client logos from organisations like the Western Cape Government and Legalwise, and verified Google reviews to give visitors confidence before they get in touch.

Key Features

Clear, Benefit-Led Messaging: A bold hero section that tells visitors straight away how EverJOURNEY helps leaders improve clarity, strengthen decision-making and sustain performance.

Audience-Focused Services: Separate service pages for organisations and individuals, so corporate clients and private clients each find the right offering quickly.

Simplified Navigation: A clean, focused menu with a Services dropdown that makes exploring the site quick and intuitive.

Online Consultation Booking: A “Book a 30-min Consultation” call to action in the header and throughout the site, linked to an online calendar for instant scheduling.

Built-In Trust Signals: Credentials, client logos and verified 5-star Google reviews displayed throughout the homepage.

Programme Showcase: A clear overview of in-person development programmes, from the High-Impact Leadership Programme to the Burnout Recovery Programme.

SEO-Ready Foundations: Optimised titles, meta descriptions and content targeting leadership and executive coaching searches in Johannesburg and South Africa.

Fully Responsive: A smooth, consistent experience on desktop, tablet and mobile.

The Results

The new EverJOURNEY website is clearer, more modern and far easier to navigate. Visitors now understand within seconds what EverJOURNEY offers and who it’s for, and they have a simple, direct path from first impression to booking a consultation. With stronger trust signals and an audience-led structure, the site now positions EverJOURNEY as a credible, professional partner for both organisations and individuals.

From Cold Submissions to Preferred Partner: How to Build Relationships with Procurement Teams Before They Publish Tenders

What if I told you that the most successful government suppliers never submit "cold" tender applications?

While 90% of suppliers are busy perfecting their generic proposals and scrambling to meet deadlines, the winning 10% are playing an entirely different game. They're building relationships with procurement officers before tenders are even published, positioning themselves as the obvious choice when opportunities arise.

I recently shared this exact strategy in my presentation on procurement authority building, and the response was overwhelming. Business owners kept asking: "But how exactly do you build these relationships? What do you actually say? Where do you start?"

Today, I'm going to break down the complete relationship-first approach that's helping suppliers transform from unknown bidders into preferred partners.

The Relationship Advantage: Why Procurement Teams Choose Familiar Faces

Here's what most suppliers don't understand about procurement psychology: procurement officers are risk-averse by nature. They're evaluated on successful project delivery, budget compliance, and vendor performance. When they're choosing between an unknown supplier with a slightly lower bid and a known quantity they trust, they'll choose the relationship almost every time.

Consider these compelling statistics:

  • 70-85% of suppliers with established procurement relationships win contract renewals
  • Relationship-driven suppliers achieve 15-25% higher margins than commodity competitors
  • 3-5 touchpoints with procurement teams before tendering dramatically increase win probability

But here's the challenge: most suppliers only interact with procurement teams during the tender process itself. By then, it's too late to build meaningful trust.

The "Dream 100" Strategy: Your Roadmap to Procurement Relationships

The foundation of relationship-first procurement success is what I call the "Dream 100" strategy. Instead of casting a wide net and hoping for the best, you systematically target the 100 procurement entities you most want to work with.

Step 1: Identify Your Dream 100

Start by listing procurement entities that:

  • Regularly procure your services
  • Have budgets that match your capacity
  • Align with your expertise and values
  • Are geographically accessible for relationship building
  • Have growth potential for long-term partnerships

Step 2: Research and Prioritize

From your Dream 100, select your Top 20 for intensive relationship building. For each entity, research:

  • Current procurement officers and decision-makers
  • Recent tender patterns and spending priorities
  • Pain points and challenges in your service area
  • Upcoming projects or budget cycles
  • Industry events and networking opportunities

Step 3: Create Relationship Building Batches

Focus on 5 entities at a time for deep relationship building. This allows you to:

  • Provide personalized attention to each relationship
  • Track interactions and follow-ups effectively
  • Measure relationship development progress
  • Adjust your approach based on what works

The LinkedIn Procurement Relationship Playbook

LinkedIn is your most powerful tool for building procurement relationships systematically. Here's the exact process that works:

Finding the Right People

Search Strategy:

  1. Use LinkedIn's advanced search with job titles like:
    • "Procurement Manager"
    • "Supply Chain Manager"
    • "Sourcing Specialist"
    • "Contract Manager"
    • "Vendor Relations"
  2. Filter by:
    • Company (your target entities)
    • Location (your service area)
    • Industry (government, municipal, etc.)

Pro Tip: Invest in LinkedIn Sales Navigator (approximately R2,000/month). It provides deeper search capabilities and allows you to track engagement patterns.

The Connection Strategy

Initial Connection Message Template:

Hi [Name],

I noticed your role in procurement at [Entity Name]. I work with [Your Industry] suppliers helping them improve their delivery outcomes for government projects.

I'd love to connect and share insights that might be valuable for your procurement processes.

Best regards,

[Your Name]

Follow-Up Strategy:

  • Week 1: Send connection request
  • Week 2: Share a valuable industry article with personal comment
  • Week 3: Comment thoughtfully on their posts
  • Week 4: Send a brief message with specific value offer

Content Strategy for Relationship Building

The key to LinkedIn relationship building isn't selling—it's providing value. Share content that demonstrates your expertise and helps procurement teams do their jobs better:

Educational Content Ideas:

  • Industry trend analysis and implications
  • Best practice guides for vendor evaluation
  • Risk mitigation strategies in your field
  • Case studies of successful project outcomes
  • Regulatory updates affecting procurement

Content Posting Schedule:

  • Monday: Industry insight or trend analysis
  • Wednesday: Educational tip or best practice
  • Friday: Case study or success story

Engagement Strategy:

  • Comment meaningfully on procurement officers' posts
  • Share their content with additional insights
  • Tag them in relevant industry discussions
  • Respond promptly to any engagement on your content

Building Relationships Beyond LinkedIn

While LinkedIn is powerful, multi-channel relationship building creates stronger connections:

Industry Events and Networking

Target Events:

  • Government procurement conferences
  • Industry association meetings
  • Municipal budget presentations
  • Supplier development workshops
  • Procurement training sessions

Event Strategy:

  • Research attendee lists in advance
  • Schedule specific meetings with target contacts
  • Prepare conversation starters about their challenges
  • Follow up within 48 hours with LinkedIn connections

Value-First Outreach

Case Study: From Unknown to Preferred Partner in 8 Months

Let me share how one consulting firm used this exact strategy to transform their procurement relationships:

Starting Position:

  • 15% tender win rate
  • No existing procurement relationships
  • Competing primarily on price
  • Generic proposals for all opportunities

Relationship Building Implementation:

  • Identified 20 target municipal entities
  • Connected with 45 procurement officers on LinkedIn
  • Shared weekly industry insights and best practices
  • Attended 6 local government procurement events
  • Offered free procurement efficiency assessments

Results After 8 Months:

  • 52% tender win rate (from 15%)
  • Preferred supplier status with 4 municipalities
  • 25% higher average margins due to relationship-based positioning
  • 6 unsolicited direct procurement requests (no tender process required)
  • 18-month contract pipeline worth R12.5 million

The transformation came from one fundamental shift: they stopped selling and started serving.

The Psychology of Procurement Relationships

Understanding what procurement officers actually want makes relationship building much more effective:

What Procurement Teams Value:

Reliability Over Price: Procurement officers would rather work with a slightly more expensive supplier they trust than risk project failure with an unknown cheap option.

Proactive Communication: They value suppliers who update them on project progress, potential issues, and market changes without being asked.

Industry Expertise: They want partners who understand their industry challenges and can provide insights beyond the basic service delivery.

Compliance Confidence: They prefer suppliers with proven track records of meeting all compliance requirements without constant oversight.

Building Trust Through Consistency

The Compound Effect of Small Interactions:

  • Consistent LinkedIn engagement builds familiarity
  • Regular value-driven content establishes expertise
  • Proactive communication demonstrates reliability
  • Industry event interactions create personal connection

Advanced Relationship Building Tactics

The Educational Authority Strategy

Position yourself as the go-to expert in your field:

Create Educational Content Series:

  • "Procurement Best Practices in [Your Industry]"
  • "Risk Mitigation Strategies for [Your Service Area]"
  • "Budget Optimization for [Specific Government Function]"
  • "Compliance Updates: What Procurement Teams Need to Know"

Host Educational Webinars:

  • Invite procurement officers to free educational sessions
  • Focus on their challenges, not your services
  • Provide actionable insights they can implement immediately
  • Build email lists of engaged procurement professionals

The Strategic Partnership Approach

Collaborate with Complementary Suppliers:

  • Partner with non-competing suppliers for joint proposals
  • Cross-refer opportunities outside your expertise
  • Create consortium relationships for larger opportunities
  • Share industry intelligence and relationship insights

Become the Relationship Hub:

  • Introduce procurement officers to other valuable suppliers
  • Share relevant opportunities you can't pursue
  • Provide industry connections and resources
  • Position yourself as a trusted network facilitator

Measuring Relationship Building Success

Track your relationship building progress with specific metrics:

Engagement Metrics:

  • LinkedIn connection acceptance rate (target: 70%+)
  • Content engagement from target procurement officers
  • Response rates to relationship-building outreach
  • Event networking conversion to ongoing relationships

Relationship Quality Indicators:

  • Unsolicited procurement inquiries
  • Invitations to pre-tender briefings
  • Direct requests for capability presentations
  • Referrals to other procurement entities

Business Impact Measures:

  • Tender win rate improvement
  • Average contract value increase
  • Time from opportunity identification to contract award
  • Repeat business and contract renewals
